Parallel Park

At the end of the Sedimental Journey it was discovered that Parallel Park was a possible source of sediment in the Missterssippi River. Hunters and fishermen use Parallel Park and Elmo Skeeto made the following comment.

Juan Tuno  - Parallel Park

I think that erosion at Parallel Park may be putting too much

dirt in the Missterssippi River. I'm not sure what might be

causing more erosion there now than five years ago, but I think

we should take a look at the populations of some of the

animals.

Through an activity you are going to graph a population of deer over a series of years. Eventually, a predator will be introduced to the simulation, and you will graph how this affects the deer population in Parallel Park. After the game, you will read the Parallel Park Files and apply what you learned in the game to help you come a step closer to solving the mystery of the dying fish in the Gray Area.

Elmo Skeeto - Sediment Statement

I represent the hunters and fishers in the area. We use the Parallel

Park area a lot, because we hunt for deer, ducks, and rabbits. Six years

ago they let us start hunting mountain lions again. We are very

disappointed that the fish are dying off, because we also enjoy fishing.

It's not our fault the fish are dying, because we have not overfished.

We always throw them back when they're too small.

Juan Tuno made a statement about the erosion at Parallel Park as well.
