The Genius Hour Project itself is not graded, why? Grades tend to discourage the innovation and effort I am looking for. Let's watch the "Motivation" video again to help us understand how grades are external motivators.
Motivation
The Genius Hour Project is about you and your interests. You are in charge of your learning and accomplishments, thus you are the only one that can determine if you were successful or not.
Objective Measurements
There are some aspects of the project that can be measured objectively, and so we will be using the following rubrics to assess them.
Remember, the only way to fail is to not have a project done. I know you want it to be perfect. I know you want your product or idea to work. Unfortunately, that is not always the case. If you feel your project is a failure, tell us about it. Not because you failed, but because you can share what you learned.
