Use your research sheets AND visit the following site to create a map of natural hazards by state.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Make sure to create a legend for your map that helps us identify which natural disaster might be ocurr in a particular state. For example if California is at risk for tsunamis, earthquakes and wildfires it should look something like the image on the right. 

 

 

Meet with your team and decide which state is free (or almost free) of the natural disasters you studied. Look at the maps you obtained, as well as the research sheets you created. You need to be able to explain why the place you choose does not have the ingredients needed for each type of hazard, and back up your claims with evidence from reliable sources.

Beware, if you simply Google safest place in america you will obtain a bunch of hits that have information not related to the task, and you will end up with a state, city or area of the country that may not be defensible by the information you were supposed to use to create this.
