Looking Deeper from Different Perspectives
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. With your team, prepare a thorough presentation that explains what the genetic technology is and exactly how it is done.
This should probably be a stand alone presentation where neither of the team members actually speaks.
2. Once you have that information in hand, divide yourselves into Pro and Con partnerships.
3. Continue your research using the links provided and at least one other. Prepare the answers to the possible questions you may face. If you state that something is beneficial, be prepared to provide scientific information that explains why. If you state that something is detrimental, be prepared to provide scientific information that explains why.
4. Remember, at this point your goal is to convince the audience that the pros outweigh the cons (or viceversa), so make sure you prepare rebuttals.
5. Prepare for the debate, you may wish to create a product that helps support your side, just make sure that both the pro and con portion are included in ONE product.
At this point at least two members should probably be prepared to speak (one for the pro side and one for the con side).
