• Review the websites listed in the Resource Section.

• Choose a rock or a mineral which you wish to adopt.

• Complete an Adoption Request form by logging on to Edmodo, finding the assignment "Pet Mineral - Adoption Request Form". You will need to type the following directly in the assignment box:

  • Name of the specific rock or mineral you wish to adopt

  • Three main reasons you wish to adopt this rock or mineral.

If your request is approved by your teacher, you may proceed to the next step.

• Research your pet using books and the online resources.

• Complete your Entry Form project. Remember, this must include:

  • Description of pet.

  • Physical Features of pet. (Color(s), luster, density, chemical composition, hardness, conductivity, streak, clevage/fracture, mineral structure)

  • In what countries or regions of the world can your pet be found? 

  • How is your pet formed? 

  • What are the uses for your pet?

  • Share interesting or unique features of your pet.

• Enter your pet in the Pet Show by submitting your Entry Form.

• Participate in the Pet Show.
