Exploring DNA
Choose one of the following projects to complete in order to show what you know. Regardless of what you choose the following terms must be included in your work:
Double-stranded DNA, single-stranded DNA, adenine, thymine, guanine, cytosine, sugar-phosphate backbone, hydrogen bonds, DNA polymerase, helicase, ligase, origin of replication
Write a script and perform a skit demonstrating how different enzymes and molecules are involved in DNA replication.
The skit does not have to be "live"; You may choose to videotape your skit and present your movie.
Create a board game to show your knowledge of DNA replication. Design the game board to illustrate the process of DNA replication and incorporate quiz questions related to the topic.
Write a story or comic strip from the point of view of a molecule of DNA as it is replicated "for the first time".
Make sure you include what the DNA experiences as it is replicated and which molecules it encounters.
Create a 3D model, with descriptions, of DNA replication.
