What to do, what to do...

This is a brief re-cap of the systems we studied (plus a couple more). Watch the video and answer the questions on your sheet to prepare for your project.  If you need an extra copy of the sheet, you may obtain it from here.

Your project has three components:

A live interview:

- Start by creating a labeled diagram of your body system on a piece of poster paper. Label at least 8 parts

- Obtain/print the interview questions . Using websites for your system found on the Body Systems page , find answers to the interview questions.

- With your team, decide who will be the interviewer and who will be the interviewee (body system assigned)

- Prepare for the live interview. Make sure all members of the team can answer all questions (no reading from notes), and are able to identify themselves in the labeled diagram.

- Submit your live interview information to your teacher in preparation for the Gala.

A compelling argument:

- Meet with your team. Brainstorm ideas to include in your argument. You must know what makes your organ system unique, how it helps the whole body function, and why the Human Body could not survive without your system.

- Decide on a presentation format for your ideas. Possible methods of sharing this information could include: a poster, a video, a skit, a presentation, an infographic or even a timeline. The decision is yours

- Prepare the presentation of your compelling argument - Remember, you must convince your audience that your body system is the most deserving of the "Best Body System in a Supporting Role" award.

- Submit your compelling argument presentation to your teacher.

An acceptance speech: (Not everyone will present this, so it cannot be part of your compelling argument)

- With your team, prepare an acceptance speech. Remember to thank all other systems by explaining how they helped you on your road to win the best Body System in a Supporting Role award.

- To prepare the acceptance speech, you will need to visit with other teams, and share you work with them (and how they work with you). You can also reference the document you answered as you watched the Amoeba sisters video at the beginning of this project.

- Submit your acceptance speech to your teacher.
