Senior Research Fellow

You  are almost ready to submit your work to the Nobel Prize Committee. This is the final stretch. Collect all the work you have created along the way:

  • Novice intern: Choice of terrestrial organism

  • Senior intern: Description of the environmental conditions where your organism survives.

  • Research assistant: List at least six of your organism's adaptations that allow it to survive and reproduce in its environment

  • Research supervisor: Identification of earliest ancestor AND intermediate forms that led to the modern organism.

  • Reserch investigator: Compare/contrast modern organism and intermediate species adaptations. (AKA what changes are observable AND how are they related to the environment the organisms lived in).

  • Research director: Description of the new environment in which the organism lives in the year 2113.

  • Research fellow: Choice of one mutation the organism will need to survive in the new environmental conditions.

With all of that information, create a product of your choice that touches on all previous work, AND

1. Explains in detail how the mutation you chose is beneficial to the organism in the new environment

2. How exactly do you forsee your organism evolving (remember, it cannot happen in one step, all structures need to come from somewhere and be gradually modified over time). Models and drawings with explanations are encouraged!

3. Backs up any claims made with evidence from the modules or studies made.
